Ultimate turkey slam? Wisconsin hunter harvests 49 toms in 49 states
Lance Penney harvested his first turkey in 1995 in Wisconsin’s Waupaca County.
He was just getting started. He recently returned from Indiana after completing a goal of shooting a turkey in the 49 states where they exist – 20 in the offing. He shot more than half of the birds in the past four years after retiring from the Waupaca County Highway Department.
